MEDIUM ROAST
Tasting notes of sugar cane, dark chocolate, sweet mint and tropical fruits.
Gosh - that's a lot of tastes .. And it's all down to the altitude that this coffee is grown at. Close to 2000 MASL (that's metres above sea level, to you and me) - which is higher than Ben Nevis.
Cultivated and processed by Davier Avilez Yepes, this stunning harvest scored a huge 87 points. Being a high altitude varietal and fully washed, it has the exact characteristics you would hope for. Medium acidity, with a clean but full mouthfeel.
Tolima is one of the most isolated coffee producing regions, located in the Central Colombia Andes mountains of Tolima, nestling between the vast Parques Nacionales Natural Nevado and the Parque Nacional Natural Cordillera De Los Pichachos Andes Mountain ranges. With limited access, other than through the town of Coyaima, and on mainly dirt roads with access subject to conditions ie, rain, snow etc. It's a 12-hour road trip from the provincial capital. It's at these altitudes of 1650/2200 MASL where the real high-quality speciality coffees are found. This truly is a special coffee.
