🌍 Overview
This is coffee as it was before anyone started arguing about acidity.
The Kraken is our darkest roast — deliberately pushed to the edge, where oils surface, sweetness darkens, and intensity takes over. Built from the same Brazil and Uganda base as our Gunpowder Blend, this version is taken further, right to the limit of what we consider extra strong.
Expect a heavy, powerful cup with deep dark chocolate, smoky edges and burnt sugar bitterness. Acidity is stripped back almost entirely, replaced by weight, punch and that familiar, nostalgic “proper coffee” character many people grew up on.
There are hints of aromatics still clinging on — just enough to remind you this is fresh, well-roasted coffee — but make no mistake: this is bold, uncompromising and intentionally dark.

Tried Cannon after searching on maps for a local coffee roaster. First order was their Brazil Mio Peaberry medium dark and from first pull it was an obvious step up from other beans I'd been using recently (and they were not bad by any means). Will continue to work my way through their selection but imagine I will regularly return to the Peaberry.

Popped in for some beans, recieved top class welcoming service and left with brilliant coffee. Took home the Brazil Mio PB (after trying it on espresso onsite) and Uganda Mt Elgon to try at home. As soon as i got back I made myself a moka pot and yes - the Ugandan has also been roasted beautifully. Will definitely be back soon. Nice one ☝🏼
